Laboratory Technician

- Perform manual and automated procedures in the unit where assigned. Identify patients and specimens correctly, review exam order. Screening of blood and blood component donors. Collection of blood and blood components from Donors who meet the criteria. Managing Donor reactions. Assist the supervisor in validating accuracy of assigned laboratory reports. Records all quality control data, analyzes data results and in consultation with the section supervisor, implement and documents remedial actions as required. Reports to the supervisor that abnormal results have been double checked or investigated and that critical value are promptly reported to the concerned physicians. Assists the supervisor in ensuring that the machines are being well maintained, calibrated, and documented according to established schedule and that all controls are within the acceptable range before testing specimens. Assists the supervisor in ensuring that the standards established by the Joint Commission International, College of American Pathologists, CBAHI, AABB and other Accreditation institutions are met in all respect within the area of responsibility. Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Document patient care and donor care services in patient and department records when needed , Maintain laboratory unit supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; making sure that placing and expediting orders for supplies was put in place. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with hospital and departmental procedures, rules, and regulations. 

- Registration with SCFHS as Laboratory Technician. English proficiency (written & verbal). Computer literate. Experience in Healthcare sector.
