Job Description

Ensure safe and effective practice, Professional, ethical and legal
2.1.1 Adhere to RCMC guidelines for practice requirements and standards, for
example, safe handling, administration, storage and custody of medicinal
products.
2.1.2 Ensure that organizational goals are reflected in own and the nursing teams’
objectives and in unit/department plans.
2.1.3 Contribute to the development of the RCMC’s nursing policies and
strategies, where appropriate.
2.1.4 Maintain own professional and personal development in accordance with
the Saudi Health Commission, standards and professional guidelines.
2.1.5 Establish and maintain relationships based on mutual respect
communicating on a regular basis with the patient/client, relatives and
carers in the provision of care and services.
2.1.6 Ensure appropriate systems are developed and operational to facilitate
dissemination of information within the unit/department team
2.1.7 Maintain effective records management ensuring all documentation written
or electronic is managed as per RCMC’s guidelines.
2.1.8 Adhere to the Code of Conduct, as per Human Resource policies and
procedures
2.1.9 Ensure risk management arrangements are in place within the
unit/department.
2.1.10 Maybe assigned other duties

2.1.12 Provide leadership and direction to pediatric staff, including nurses,
technicians, and support personnel

2.1.13 Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines governing
pediatric services.
2.1.14 Analyze data to identify trends, address issues, and implement strategies for
continuous improvement.
2.1.15 Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients/clients and visitors
by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and protocols including
health and safety, healthcare associated infection, risk management and
critical incident reporting.
2.1.16 Ensure staff awareness of environmental issues and take appropriate action
as per RCMC policy.
2.1.17 Participate in the analysis, assessment and management of actual and
potential risks to health and well-being.
2.1.18 Ensure safe and effective use of equipment as per RCMC policy.
2.1.19 Attend meetings and forums, representing the unit at various levels both
within RCMC and external agencies.
2.1.20 Develop strategies for communication between staff, patients/clients,
relatives and their careers, showing awareness of barriers to understanding.
2.1.21 Ensure the safety and quality of the patient’s/client’s journey by effective
planning and co-ordination of the episode of care, including the smooth
transition to other settings.
2.1.22 Ensure effective admission/discharge planning with relevant multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams as required.
2.1.23 Identify opportunities for meaningful involvement of patients/clients and
carers’ in relation to the development of care and services.
2.1.24 Ensure effective systems are in place to gain patient/client and carers’
feedback on their experience of care.
2.1.25 Provide effective leadership and management on the unit presents as a

2.1.26 Empower and enable staff to contribute to the delivery of high quality
person-centered care
2.1.27 Promote, develop and facilitate a learning culture within the unit/department
2.1.28 Lead and participate in annual staff appraisal/development review, ensuring
effective implementation of the Knowledge and Skills competencies
2.1.29 Deliver a safe and effective service within allocated resources, ensuring the
resources are used to maximum effect.
2.1.30 Monitor budgetary performance, develop and implement action plans,
organize the necessary resources and monitor outcomes.
2.1.31 The Nurse Manager will set, monitor and evaluate the overall standards of
care and practice on the unit, in consultation with other members of the staff
team and the RCMC Quality Department
2.1.32 Ensure nurses working in the unit/department are professionally qualified
and registered with the SCHS.
2.1.33 Ensure nurses working in the unit/department achieve compliance with
statutory and mandatory training requirements
2.1.34 Liaise with other nursing managers and heads of nursing on all professional
nursing issues
2.1.35 Ensure processes are in place to manage sickness/absenteeism and take
appropriate action in line with RCMC policies.
2.1.36 Manage duty roster /annual leave and study leave to ensure adequate
nursing cover and appropriate skill mix.
2.1.2 Attend meetings and forums, representing the unit at various levels both within
RCMC and external agencies.

2.1.3 Ensures the development of the unit team encouraging staff to contribute their
views and ideas as appropriate
2.1.4 Ensure that all clinical and other information is gathered, stored and passed on
to relevant departments/personnel, and information is accessible only to
authorized personnel and is stored in accordance with RCMC policy
2.1.5 Ensure that the Director & assigned Associate Director are kept informed of all
developments and changes within the unit’s environment.
2.1.6 Participating in establishment and maintenance of good working relationships
with all other units and departments on-site and elsewhere within RCMC
2.1.7 Act as practice supervisor for allocated students, ensuring that student’s
educational needs are met during placement.
2.1.8 Participate actively in the education and training of staff
2.1.9 Participate in the education and training of other disciplines as required and
establish a learning environment for staff.
2.1.10 Ensure the staff is fully aware of the current development standard practice in
the care of the assigned service.
2.1.11 Acknowledge own limitations and discuss/identify their training and
development needs.
2.1.12 Ensure that all equipment, furniture and fittings are kept in good working order
to endure the comfort of clients, visitors and staff. Budget accordingly.

1. Ensure that all care provided is in accordance with the Directorate’s philosophy
and is, therefore, patients centered based on a comprehensive and thorough
multi-disciplinary assessment of an individual’s specific needs and which is
implemented in ways which are based on research and/or current best practice
2. Ensure that all care provided is regularly and systematically evaluated against
expected outcomes, ensuring any necessary changes in implementation are
actioned.
3. Ensure that all nursing care plans and other documents are properly and
accurately completed.
4. Ensure that each patient has an identified and appropriate named nurse who is
suitability qualified and experienced.
5. Ensure that mechanisms are in place within the team which ensures that the skills
of individual staff are matched to the individual needs of patients.

6. Ensure that patients are made aware of, encourage and assisted to use all
services available to them.
7. Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, safety,
and satisfaction in the pediatric medical-surgical unit.
8. Monitor key performance indicators and clinical outcomes to identify areas for
improvement and implement evidence-based practices
9. Investigate adverse events, incidents, or complaints related to patient care and
implement corrective actions as needed.

11. Participate in the setting, implementation and monitoring of objectives for the unit
team in accordance with the aims and objectives of the directorate.
12. Create structures which enable most effective use of nursing resources and which
encourage developed accountability for nursing practice.
13. The Nurse Manager will set, monitor and evaluate the overall standards of care
and practice on the unit, in consultation with other members of the staff team and
the RCMC Total Quality Department.
14. Ensure that all practices and interactions on the unit are based on the preservation
and respect of client’s dignity individual and cultural; identify which (wherever
possible) and are in accordance with the maintenance of individuals
independence.
15. Ensure that all staff is aware of the standards of professional behavior expected
on the unit by the RCMC .
16. Identify any factors which might interfere with the maintenance of high clinical
standards in the unit and take any necessary corrective action
17. Manage unit resources effectively, including staffing, supplies, equipment, and
budget allocations.
18. Identify opportunities to optimize resource utilization and streamline processes to
improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
19. Plan efficient use of staffing resources on the unit, ensuring that staffing levels are
safe, appropriate, and contain the necessary skill mix on each shift.
20. Delegate duties and responsibilities to other staff as appropriate to assist in the
day to day operation of the unit and to aid the development of individual staff.
21. Undertaking specific management of clinical responsibilities as delegated by the
DON

22. Participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of staff as required.
23. Facilitate ongoing education and professional development opportunities for staff
to enhance their pediatric clinical skills and knowledge.
24. Mentor and coach staff members to promote excellence in pediatric medicalsurgical nursing practice
25. Perform annual (or more frequent) appraisal of staff
26. Implement all RCMC policies relating to Human Resource Management
27. Ensure the management of the unit’s budget by reviewing PAR levels
28. Ensure that all equipment, furniture and fittings are kept in good working order to
endure the comfort of clients, visitors and staff. Budget accordingly

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Preferred Master’s in Nursing

Experience

• For Non-Saudi Minimum of 7 Yrs. Experience
• For Saudi Minimum of 5 yrs. Experience

 

Skills

Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or
without reasonable accommodations that the essential functions of the job can be
performed
1. Fluent in English, Arabic speaking is preferred.
2. Physically Fit.
3. Be fast analytical thinkers in order to make appropriate treatment decisions and
deal effectively with emergencies.
4. Fluent spoken and written English. Spoken. Arabic desirable.
5. Management Certificate is desirable

تأسست الهيئة الملكية للجبيل وينبع بموجب مرسوم ملكي أصدره جلالة الملك خالد بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود ـ يرحمه الله - في 16 رمضان عام 1395هـ الموافق 21 سبتمبر عام 1975م. وجاء في المرسوم الملكي: (تشكل هيئة ملكية لتنفيذ خطة التجهيزات الأساسية اللازمة لإعداد منطقتي الجبيل وينبع كمنطقتين صناعيتين ويكون لهذه الهيئة شخصية معنوية مستقلة). كما خصصت للهيئة الملكية ميزانية مستقلة لتنفيذ أعمالها. The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu was established as per a Royal Decree issued by HM King Khalid - May Allah have mercy upon him - in 21 September 1975 (16 Ramadan 1395H). The Royal Decree read “A Royal Commission shall be formed to execute the necessary infrastructure plan for the preparation of Jubail and Yanbu Cities as industrial areas. The Commission shall have an independent legal personality”. An independent budget was dedicated for the Royal Commission.
