- General:

1- Saudi Nationality

2- Hold valid SCFHS classification and registration

- Education:

1- Graduate from a recognized medical school and hold a Saudi board or equivalent degree

2- Holding specialty qualification or equivalent .

3- Complete a period of experience not less than 3 year in the field of specialization in recognized hospital or a health center.

- Job Specific:

1. To deliver a consultant led emergency services.
2. To work with other staff in the emergency department to provide emergency care of the highest standards to the local population through clinical work, teaching and training, audit and management.
3. To provide safe and seamless transition of care back into the community or advise admission into hospital as appropriate.

4. To deliver and maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of patient presenting of the emergency department.
5. Ensure optimum care of all patient attending the emergency department including receptions, triage, resuscitation , diagnosis, initial treatment and disposal of all emergencies .
6. To conterbute to the clinical and operational development of the emergency services.
7. Provide professional work direction and technical guidance with active supervision to the junior staff, and direct responsibility for the maintenance of medical standards in the service to which assigned.
8. Conduct the rounds of patients in the areas managed by the emergency department
9. Plans Emergency Department operations during his duty so that ED areas can best meet the needs of the population served. This involves meetings and discussions with the physicians and nurses in each area as to the workload hours, categories of Triage or medical problems and suggested methods of alleviation.
10. Assists the Chief of Emergency department in planning programs integrating the all aspects of the management of total patient care.
11. Discusses with physicians the more complicated medical cases, determining when problems become of sufficient importance to refer to the ED Chief when repercussions or administrative problems are entailed; and handles medical cases referred by the physicians, such as those in which there appears to be conflicting medical opinion.                                                                                    12. Assists in establishing departmental policies, procedures and clinical guidelines through the observation of areas needing coverage, determining and discussing bottlenecks in handling patients and participating in resolving organizational or methods problems relating to ED areas
13. Recognizes critical conditions, able to react quickly and make crisp decisions in an atmosphere of crisis and performs standardized Triage.
