Follow RCMC policy and procedure
Attends annual review and performs departmental in-services.

It is the duty of every employee to report any negative or abnormal or unexpected event/incident as soon as possible after its occurrence by filling the appropriate Electronic Occurrence Variance Report (eOVR)
Conducts pre- and post-operative education
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care Plans.
Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team.
Takes and monitors patients’ vital signs
Ensures that operating on correct patient and the correct procedure is being performed
Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.
Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol.
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
Preps operating room for patient/procedure
Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
Monitors patients’ physical and emotional well-being throughout the care continuum
Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their post-treatment home care needs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation.
Pre-operative Care:
I. Assessing patients prior to surgery, reviewing their medical history, and ensuring they are prepared both physically and mentally for the procedure.
II. Verifying patient identification, surgical site, and procedure to prevent errors.
III. Administering medications as prescribed by the physician, such as pre-operative antibiotics or sedatives.
IV. Educating patients and their families about
Intra-operative Care:
I. Assisting the surgical team in preparing the operating room by setting up equipment, instruments, and supplies.
II. Positioning the patient on the operating table and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
III. Sterilizing and maintaining aseptic conditions within the operating room to prevent infections.
IV. Passing instruments and supplies to the surgical team as needed during the procedure.
V. Monitoring the patient's vital signs and responding to any changes or complications that arise during surgery.
VI. Documenting all aspects of the procedure accurately and comprehensively.
ost-operative Care:
I. Monitoring patients in the recovery room or post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) immediately after surgery.
II. Assessing patients for signs of complications such as bleeding, respiratory distress, or adverse reactions to anesthesia.
III. Providing pain management and comfort measures to patients as needed.
IV. Educating patients and their families on post-operative care instructions, including wound care, activity restrictions, and medication management.
V. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care as patients transition from the operating room to the recovery phase.
VI. Documenting post-operative
Team Collaboration:
I. Collaborating effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other members of the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

II. Maintaining proficiency in operating room equipment, technology, and protocols through ongoing education and training.
III. Participating in quality assurance activities, such as audits and incident reporting, to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigate risks.
During the surgical procedure, OR Nurses can take the role of:
2.2.18.1 Circulating Nurse, with the following additional duties:
I. Assists in positioning, responding to comfort/safety of patient.
II. Provides for accurate care and handling of specimens Observes and enforces strict standards of asepsis.
III. Observes, checks and monitors all equipment used during surgery to confirm they are running smoothly.
IV. Handles patient documentation.
V. Inventories all items both pre- and post-surgery
2.2.18.2 Scrub Nurse, with the following additional duties:
I. Selects and handles instruments and supplies used for the operation, passing them to surgeon.
II. Inventories all items both pre- and post-surgery.
III. Direct care provided by licensed associate diploma nurses and nursing aides.
IV. Float among various clinical services, where qualified and competent.
Completes required orientation as directed by facility
Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
Follows facility and RCMC Unusual Occurrence Protocol
Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
Upholds HIPAA regulations
Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts

- Bachelor degree of Science in Nursing.

مستشفى الهيئة الملكية بينبع Royal Commission Medical Center Yanbu
تأسست الهيئة الملكية للجبيل وينبع بموجب مرسوم ملكي أصدره جلالة الملك خالد بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود ـ يرحمه الله - في 16 رمضان عام 1395هـ الموافق 21 سبتمبر عام 1975م. وجاء في المرسوم الملكي: (تشكل هيئة ملكية لتنفيذ خطة التجهيزات الأساسية اللازمة لإعداد منطقتي الجبيل وينبع كمنطقتين صناعيتين ويكون لهذه الهيئة شخصية معنوية مستقلة). كما خصصت للهيئة الملكية ميزانية مستقلة لتنفيذ أعمالها. The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu was established as per a Royal Decree issued by HM King Khalid - May Allah have mercy upon him - in 21 September 1975 (16 Ramadan 1395H). The Royal Decree read “A Royal Commission shall be formed to execute the necessary infrastructure plan for the preparation of Jubail and Yanbu Cities as industrial areas. The Commission shall have an independent legal personality”. An independent budget was dedicated for the Royal Commission.
