- General:

1- Saudi Nationality

2- With a grade of (Good) and above 

3- Valid SCFHS classification and registration 

4- University certificates equalization (if certificate from non-Saudi institution) 

- Education:

1- BS degree from recognized medical school + one-year internship

- Job Specific 

1. Responsible for providing medical care to inpatients at the Medical Center or any other medical facility in MYAS on a 24 hour basis includes (inside the hospital) in-house on call.
2. Works under the direction of Consultants/Senior Registrar/Registrar
3. Assists in admission procedures of patients to the in-patient service, whether it is ICU or a general ward.
4. To perform initial work-up and evaluation of patients admitted to the ward.
5. To follow-up patients during the hospital stay and plan the management of these patients under the supervision of the most responsible physician (MRP).
6. To make daily rounds on the in-patients and make management decisions under the supervision of the MRP and in consultation with the various sub-specialty services.
7. Makes discharge plans and discharges patients home or to another facility in consultation with MRP.
8. Dictates Discharge Summaries.
9. Provides on-call coverage for the in-patient service on a rotational basis about once every 4 days. When on-call, must stay in the hospital to respond to requests of the nurses to evaluate patients.
10. To obtain the assistance of other specialists or various sub-specialists when in need, especially when the patient is facing a life-threatening situation
11. Performs procedures as indicated and outlined in his request for privileges and approved by the Credentials Committee.
12. To provide escort services to patients transferred to other hospitals.
13. Attends and participates in the periodical staff meeting of the service they work in.
14. Provides services to the out-patient clinic and follow-up of certain patients discharged from the hospital.
15. Proper documentation of History, physical examination, daily progress notes as per policy and procedure.
16. Communicate with the patient regularly during his shift and upon patient request.
17. Should respond immediately to Emergency Room request to examine patient in ER.
18. Participate in patient education based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate.
19. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
20. Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
21. Clinical privileges will be granted on the basis of training, education, experience and demonstrated competence of the practitioner.
22. Surgical Department:
• Pre-operative assessment & preparation of patients.
• Assistant in surgeries.

• Post-operative care of patients
23. The role required according to the Department privilege. (attached & approved by the head of department)
24. Develops and promotes appropriate standards of care.
