Category 1: Organizational Responsibilities (applicable to all staff)
1. Follow RCMC policy and procedure
2. Attends annual review and performs departmental in-services.
3. Prepare reports

7. Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with Vendors, Physicians and Staff.
8. Maintains regulatory requirements, including all national and JCI regulations.

10. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire, safety and infection control.

16. Resolves personnel concerns at the departmental level, utilizing the grievance process as required.
17. Completes annual education requirement.
18. It is the duty of every employee to report any negative or abnormal or unexpected event/incident as soon as possible after its occurrence by filling the appropriate Occurrence Variance Report (OVR) form and submitting it to the Quality Improvement Department (QID) after being reviewed by the supervisor and/or head of department. N/A Subcategory 2.2: Job-Specific Technical Tasks (ONLY to be used with the physicians, dentists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, nurses, clinical support services technicians, engineers, TAD technicians, EMT staff)
1. Receive, label, and prepare specimens following protocols to ensure sample quality and traceability.
2. All laboratory personnel, including technicians and specialists, are required to perform phlebotomy as part of their core duties.
3. Perform diverse laboratory tests accurately according to standard procedures.
4. Analyze, validate, and report test results promptly through the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
5. Monitor and conduct routine quality control to ensure reliability of test outcomes.
6. Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
7. Follow strict safety, biosafety, and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
8. Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with laboratory policies and regulatory requirements.
9. Communicate effectively with healthcare teams and respond to urgent or special testing requests.
10. Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and support laboratory accreditation and licensing standards.

• Knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
• An awareness of the factors that influence test results.
• Know to assess and verify the validity of patient test results through the evaluation of quality control sample value prior to reporting patient test results.

Bachelor of Science Degree in laboratory from an accredited college or university
