Responsible on shift-by-shift basis for professional/clinical supervision of new/ junior
staff members and pre-registration student or learners.
Follows and assists in the implementation and interpretation of policies and
procedures. Review RCMC IPPs manual (computer system) annually
Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e., mission,
ethics and goals of the hospital, customer service, safety, compliance standards
and all others
Attends and actively participates in meetings of committees as assigned. Assists in
data collection for quality improvement
Attends and assist the Head Nurse in annual review and performs departmental
professional development
Integrates Trans-cultural principles into nursing care.
Excellent attendance record.
Leadership:
I. Manages the ICU /CCU/PICU in the absence of the Nurse Manager and/or as
required.
II. Provide leadership, support and guidance to staff in monitoring the planning delivery
and evaluation of individualized care.
III. Responsible for monitoring the workload/patient acuity within the unit on a daily basis
to ensure manpower is adequate to provide a safe standard of nursing care.
IV. Ensure cost effective and appropriate use of manpower and material with
consideration and due regards to budgetary control.
V. Assist and support the Nurse Manager to provide, lead direction to assigned staff,
including establishing workloads, prioritizing work assignments, monitoring employee
performance, interpreting policies and procedures, and resolving staff issues.
VI. Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner
VII. Assists in the monitoring, procurement and proper inventory of supplies. Assists in
maintaining equipment.
VIII. Self-motivated and able to make decisions independently keeping physician,
department manager and appropriate others informed and supporting hospital
philosophy and decisions.
IX. Assure timely flow of patient through department.
X. Assist the Nurse Manager in the annual (or more frequent) appraisal of staff.
XI. Assist the Head Nurse in any grievance, disciplinary, performance or sickness issues
as appropriate and in accordance with RCMC procedure.
Education:
I. Provides orientation to new nursing and support staff.
II. Support the Nurse Manager provide education to patients, families, regarding
discharge instructions to other units
III. Participates in and supports training and development of Saudi nursing
programmes.
IV. Encourage new ideas and facilitate implementation following discussion with
clinical leader
Environment
I. Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients/clients and visitors by
ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and protocols including health and
safety, healthcare associated infection, risk management and critical incident
reporting.
II. Ensure staff awareness of environmental issues and take appropriate action as per
RCMC policy.
III. Participate in the analysis, assessment and management of actual and potential risks
to health and well-being.
IV. Ensure safe and effective use of equipment as per RCMC policy.
V. Ensure near misses, incidents, accidents and faulty devices are recorded, reported,
investigated and learning disseminated as per RCMC policy.
Enhance the patient/client Experience-Person-centered care
I. Communicating with patients of diverse ethnic backgrounds.
II. Develop and maintain a culture of person-centered care within the unit/department.
III. Promote a caring environment where equality and diversity issues are respected and
patients/clients and their careers are enabled to be partners in their care.
IV. Develop strategies for communication between staff, patients/clients, relatives and their
careers, showing awareness of barriers to understanding.
V. Facilitate communication between all members of the multi-disciplinary/multiagency
team, and across care settings.
The critical care charge nurse is expected to have knowledge of all clinical aspect
related to this area but not be directly involved.
Provide direct, holistic, specialist care for critically ill adults and children
competently on a frequent daily basis; Level 2 and 3 patients with minimal
supervision.
Utilizing advanced specialist knowledge and skill in assessing, planning,
implementing and evaluating programmed of care for adult / pediatric patients
within ICU/PICU from admission to Transfer/Discharge on frequently daily basis.
One nurse per patient, providing continuous attendance, visual observation and
appropriate intervention on a frequent daily basis, with supervision using
Advanced forms of respiratory support (i.e. CPAP, BiPAP, Mechanical
Ventilation, Tracheostomies, Bronchial Suctioning)
Advanced forms of invasive monitoring (i.e. CVP, Arterial lines, PICCO), Visual
monitoring and analysis (i.e. Cardiac dysrhythmias, Glasgow Coma Scale, ECG,
SaO2, ETCO2, 12 lead ECG, sedation level, pain assessment)
Advanced forms of renal support (i.e. hemofiltration, dialysis) on a frequent basis
with minimal supervision
Nutritional support (i.e. Enteral and Parental feeding) on a frequent basis and
with minimal supervision.
Frequent blood sampling, including analysis and interpretation i.e. Arterial blood
gases, capillary blood glucose measurement, cardiac output studies, using
complex equipment on the ICU with minimal supervision.
Take laboratory blood and other specimens as required and access results from
the hospital system
Safe calculation, administration and titration of multiple and complex IV infusion
working within prescribed parameters to achieve precise aims (i.e. inotropes,
sedation, epidurals) including a working knowledge of drug effects and action in
the event of an adverse response on a frequent basis and with minimal
supervision.
Advanced life support skills including defibrillation.
TR BAND removal for post CATH Patients.
Recognizes and assesses emergencies within ICU/PICU /CCU and takes
immediate appropriate action.
Monitors the hemodynamic status of the patient and correctly interpret results.
Observation and safe management of intravascular devices, on frequent daily
basis, with minimal supervision.
Observation and safe management of airway devices delivering assisted or
mechanical ventilation on frequent daily basis with minimal supervision
Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient history,
condition, vital signs, treatment, response to intervention and change of status.
Treat patient and their family with respect and dignity. Function as a liaison for
the patient between the physician and other health care providers.
Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing
and treatments
Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records
prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments
in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a
licensed registered nurse
Maintains proper supplies and appropriate medical equipment to care for patients
Reports any suspected abuse as per hospital protocol.
Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician.
Provide advice and support to patients and relatives in unpredictable, highly
emotive situations whilst respecting their culture and spiritual values on a
frequent daily basis.
17. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely
manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
Arrange for patient transfer to other departments and facilities, complete required
documentation.
Practicing infection control methods/ protocols
Plan a timely, organized discharge of complex patients ensuring good
communication with patient, relatives receiving unit and medical team to ensure
a smooth uneventful transfer for the patient on frequent basis with minimal
supervision
Recognizes physiological and psychological responses to intervention, on a
frequent daily basis, with minimal supervision.
Assists with the orientation of new employees to the department.
Supervise and provide nursing students, opportunities to observe and learn.
"Participate in the training (Saudi ICU Nursing Diploma Programs) process for
trainees within the rules of the training program under the supervision of the
training program director.
The ICU/PICU//CCU Charge Nurse is expected to have knowledge of all
equipment used in the area.
Education
• Bachelor degree of Science in Nursing
• Recognized Intensive Care Course or equivalent preferred.
• Intermediate Program or equivalent management course (preferred)
Experience
• For Non-Saudi Minimum of 7 Yrs. Experience
• For Saudi Minimum of 5 yrs. Experience

حكومي ينبع, المملكة العربية السعودية http://www.rcymc.med.saتأسست الهيئة الملكية للجبيل وينبع بموجب مرسوم ملكي أصدره جلالة الملك خالد بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود ـ يرحمه الله - في 16 رمضان عام 1395هـ الموافق 21 سبتمبر عام 1975م. وجاء في المرسوم الملكي: (تشكل هيئة ملكية لتنفيذ خطة التجهيزات الأساسية اللازمة لإعداد منطقتي الجبيل وينبع كمنطقتين صناعيتين ويكون لهذه الهيئة شخصية معنوية مستقلة). كما خصصت للهيئة الملكية ميزانية مستقلة لتنفيذ أعمالها. The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu was established as per a Royal Decree issued by HM King Khalid - May Allah have mercy upon him - in 21 September 1975 (16 Ramadan 1395H). The Royal Decree read “A Royal Commission shall be formed to execute the necessary infrastructure plan for the preparation of Jubail and Yanbu Cities as industrial areas. The Commission shall have an independent legal personality”. An independent budget was dedicated for the Royal Commission.
