Job Description

Task Category 1: Organizational Responsibilities (applicable to all staff)
1. Adheres, comply, follow, assist, Review in implementation and interpretation RCMC Policy and Procedure (computer system) annually.
2. Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e., mission, ethics and goals of the hospital, customer service, safety, compliance standards and all others
3. Monitor compliance with legislative requirements and organization polices and procedure and take appropriate action to correct any area of non-compliance
4. Attends and actively participates in meetings of committees as assigned. Assists in data collection for quality improvement.

5. Attend 75% of all department meetings & annual review and annual departmental competencies.
6. Demonstrable ongoing and active continuous education. Maintain RCMC annual competencies.
7. Prepare reports (as required)
8. Adhere to RCMC dress code, Wears identification while on duty
9. Adhere to chain of command & Maintains organizational confidentiality at all times.
10. Perform holistic Basic & Bedside patient Care
11. Perform other duties related the work as assigned by the Manager as needed.
12. Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians and staff.
13. Maintains regulatory requirements including national and JCI regulations.
14. Excellent attendance record
15. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
16. Resolves personnel concerns at the departmental level, utilizing the grievance process as required.
17. Integrates Trans-cultural principles into nursing care
18. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire, safety and infection control.
19. Reports any negative, abnormal or unexpected event/incident as soon as possible after its occurrence by filling the Electronic Occurrence Variance Report (EOVR).

Job-Specific Technical Tasks
2.2.1 ER Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
2.2.2 Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and then consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans

2.2.3 Performs triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocol
2.2.4 Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
2.2.5 Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes and adjust the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
2.2.6 Able to perform a focus and head to toe assessment and reassessment. This includes pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and the general patient population.
2.2.7 Able to monitor the hemodynamic status of the patient and correctly interpret results
2.2.8 Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies arrhythmia, and intervenes using ACLS algorithm and physician order.
2.2.9 Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient history, condition, vital signs, treatment, response to intervention and change of status.
2.2.10 Treat patient and their family with respect and dignity. Function as a liaison for the patient between the physician and other health care providers.
2.2.11 Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing and treatments
2.2.12 Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse
2.2.13 Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.
2.2.14 Cleans and bandages wounds
2.2.15 Maintains proper supplies and appropriate medical equipment to care for patients
2.2.16 Reports any suspected abuse to the appropriate agencies Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician.
2.2.17 Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise program, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation, as well as provides referrals to other healthcare professionals for follow-up treatment

2.2.18 Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner
2.2.19 Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
2.2.20 Arrange for patient transfer to other departments and facilities, complete required documentation.
2.2.21 Respond to Code Blue in another area depending upon situation in the department.
2.2.22 Assist the physician with suturing, thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, central line placement, arterial line, intubation, trans venous pacemaker, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, splint application.
2.2.23 Assist with the orientation of new employees to the department.
2.2.24 Supervise and provide nursing students, EMT students, and high school medtech students opportunities to observe and learn.
2.2.25 Triage and document telephone requests for advice and treatment according to the department standard.
2.2.26 Arrange follow-up care for patient.
2.2.27 Assure timely flow of patient through department
2.2.28 Self-motivated and able to make decisions independently keeping physician, department manager and appropriate others informed and supporting hospital philosophy and decisions.
2.2.29 Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e., customer service, safety, compliance standards and all others
2.2.30 Follows and assists in the implementation and interpretation of policies and procedures

2.2.32 Reviews Policy & Procedure manuals on computer annually.

2.2.35 Completes annual competencies
2.2.36 Undertake learning and development activities to maintain competence and enhance the service provided to patients
2.2.37 Float among various clinic and/or unit as required
2.2.38 Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting
2.2.39 Supervise and provide nursing students, opportunities to observe and learn. "Participate in the training (Saudi Emergency Nursing Diploma Programs) process for trainees within the rules of the training program under the supervision of the training program director.
2.2.40 SN 1 (added) duties and responsibilities
• Provide clinical leadership to ensure the provision of highest quality nursing care
• Promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence based practice.
• Acting as a role model and expert clinical practitioner.
• Supervise and teach trained staff and health care assistants.
• To assist in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources.
• To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Head Nurse / Charge Nurse.

Skills

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years post graduate nursing experience

Holds a current valid professional license to practice.
• Saudi Council Registration and / or valid Prometric examination. (preferred)
• BCLS
• ACLS, PALS,
• NRP preferred.
• ATLS preferred.

تأسست الهيئة الملكية للجبيل وينبع بموجب مرسوم ملكي أصدره جلالة الملك خالد بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود ـ يرحمه الله - في 16 رمضان عام 1395هـ الموافق 21 سبتمبر عام 1975م. وجاء في المرسوم الملكي: (تشكل هيئة ملكية لتنفيذ خطة التجهيزات الأساسية اللازمة لإعداد منطقتي الجبيل وينبع كمنطقتين صناعيتين ويكون لهذه الهيئة شخصية معنوية مستقلة). كما خصصت للهيئة الملكية ميزانية مستقلة لتنفيذ أعمالها. The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu was established as per a Royal Decree issued by HM King Khalid - May Allah have mercy upon him - in 21 September 1975 (16 Ramadan 1395H). The Royal Decree read “A Royal Commission shall be formed to execute the necessary infrastructure plan for the preparation of Jubail and Yanbu Cities as industrial areas. The Commission shall have an independent legal personality”. An independent budget was dedicated for the Royal Commission.
